A West Hills man who delivered $8 million in humanitarian aid to Afghanistan has launched a similar campaign for Iraqi refugees, with plans to ship medical supplies to the war-ravaged country.
Vietnam combat medic Ed Artis, 57, founder of Knightsbridge International, has been working to raise $175,000 needed to ship medical supplies to Iraq for a 30- to 45-day relief mission.
He's raised $36,000 so far from listeners of a KROQ-FM (106.7) radio program in which he advertised the mission on March 20. He has also solicited funds from celebrities.
