Apr. 1--The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday takes up the thorny issue of affirmative action in oral arguments that will be closely watched by the 300 universities, corporations and advocacy groups that have filed more than 60 briefs in the case.
It will also be watched by Yetunde Tyehimba, an African-American senior at Morgan Park High School, and myriad students just like her--worried about their futures and aware that minority students are often faced with inferior preparation.
