Article: National Retail Foundation Revises 2003 Sales Forecast, Predicts Modest Gain.

Apr. 2--Citing war concerns, the National Retail Federation has revised its 2003 sales forecast, now predicting a gain of 3.8 percent for the year, down from a 5.6 percent increase announced in January.

The announcement from the world's largest retail trade group comes at the same time analysts are reducing their sales expectations for March for several large retail chains.

In a weekly recorded announcement on sales results, Wal-Mart said it expects sales to come in at the low end of its internal plan calling for a low single digit gain in sales at stores ...
