Just two types of polymer resin-PBT, nylon (6 and 6.6)-account for over ninety percent of plastics applications in automotive electronics. Hitherto, the only black-coloured laser-weldable resins available have been PBT and nylon 6.6. BASF has now filled a gap in the market by introducing Ultramid B3WG6 LT, a laser-transparent black nylon 6.
