Mentlik denies maneuvers to turn UB into joint stock firm, file for bankruptcy

Former Union Banka (UB) general director Roman Mentlik told Interfax Wednesday he had nothing to do with a recent move to transform the bank into a joint stock company, move its headquarters, or file for its bankruptcy.

On Tuesday, a court in Usti nad Labem declared Ceska revitalizacni, a company it described as the successor to UB, bankrupt. According to the company's bankruptcy administrator, Daniel Thelen, the move to transform the bank and file for bankruptcy was made by Mentlik and other UB managers.
