It's a bittersweet time for Nawal Nasrallah. Born in Iraq, the Bostonian has just published her first cookbook, "Delights From the Garden of Eden" (1st Books Library, 2003), but her heart is saddened by the war that has engulfed her homeland.
"I'm not really in the mood to celebrate," she admits. "Our family is there. But I'm also relieved that (the book is) out and accessible to readers who can learn something about our culture and the normal, everyday life of Iraqis, as well as our ancient culinary history."
