ING Direct, which began operating in Australia in August 1999, has reached a major milestone. Vaughan Richtor, the CEO of ING Direct Australia, says it has now paid out $A500 million in interest. He says that all interest earned by ING Direct customers remains in their account, as ING Direct has no bank fees whatsoever.
