2003 APR 7 - (NewsRx.com & NewsRx.net) -- Romark Pharmaceuticals has announced that its new U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved pediatric diarrhea drug, Alinia (nitazoxanide), is now available in pharmacies through national and regional wholesale distributors.
Alinia for Oral Suspension (100 mg/5 mL) was approved by the FDA in November 2002 for the treatment of children with diarrhea caused by Cryptosporidium and Giardia. It is the first drug ever approved by FDA for Cryptosporidium, and the only oral suspension available in the U.S. for treating diarrhea caused by either of these organisms.
