What made Gutenberg's printing press such a revolutionary invention? Gutenberg combined a screw-operated press with moveable metal type, so he could print fairly quickly and many times.
Now you can see how this type of printing really worked. You can build a working model of an early press, and use it to print messages of your own. Just turn the page!
You Need:
* 1 carpenter's c-clamp (2- to 4-inch size)
* 2 small flat sticks (tongue depressors, paint stirrers, or rulers)
* double-faced carpet tape (about 6 inches)
* pipe cleaners
