Larry Hillman walked into the north Minneapolis home of his 89-year-old parents in March 2001, concerned that family members couldn't reach them by phone.
The normally neat house was askew, with drawers and cupboards standing open.
Then he found the body of his father, Abel Hillman, who had Alzheimer's disease, on the floor. A stroke, he thought, until he saw his mother's feet under the table in the bloodstained dining room. Esther Hillman had been slashed and stabbed 71 times.
