THE success of Wayne Rooney's full debut for England came as no surprise to me.
I have been saying for weeks what a special talent he is and that he was ripe for an England start. And he proved without any doubt that if you are good enough, then you are old enough.
Until Wednesday, I had always maintained that the best international debut I'd ever seen was when Liam Brady made his bow for the Republic of Ireland.
However, Rooney eclipsed that against Turkey. He was simply a revelation - Wayne Rooney has got ``it'', that indefinable quality which sets great players aside from good ones.
