MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 7, 2003
FedEx Express (NYSE:FDX) delivered two giant pandas from Beijing, China to the Memphis International Airport today at 3:10 p.m. local time.
Le Le, a four-year-old male panda, and Ya Ya, a two-year-old female panda, traveled onboard a custom-decaled FedEx Express MD-11 jet, known as "The FedEx (R) PandaExpress". During the 15-hour flight, the bears were comfortably housed in two custom-built transport containers and enjoyed several in-flight meals of bamboo leaves and stems.
