RICHMOND -- Susan B. Allen, wife of U.S. Sen. George Allen, has been nominated for a seat on the board of directors for Virginia's largest electric utility.
If she is elected - as expected - by stockholders of Dominion Resources Inc. on April 25, Susan Allen would receive an annual compensation package of cash and stock shares valued at about $55,000. Last year, Dominion held 10 board meetings.
The nomination has drawn criticism from consumer watchdog groups.
But Mike Waldron, a spokesman for the Republican senator, said both Allens have signed an agreement not to discuss with each other ...
