A few months before he won the Democratic Party nomination for the 1992 presidential election, Governor Bill Clinton of Arkansas was given a cartoon that had been published in the Saudi daily Arab News a few days earlier. It depicted the democrat's presidential candidate as a genie struggling through the neck of a bottle to grab hold of elusive American politics.
