Apr. 9--Last fall, when war with Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein seemed inevitable, USAA began its own war preparations.
Deployment specialists from the San Antonio-based insurance and financial services company headed for military camps, posts and bases across the country, and boarded the USS Abraham Lincoln and USS Constellation aircraft carriers before they headed to sea.
Their mission was to ready soldiers and their families for the practical financial issues for the months they are overseas.
