SEATTLE _ Ziggy weighs barely 5 pounds and fits neatly into a small black purse, leaving just enough room for a tube of lipstick.
He has vacationed in Italy, boasts ridiculously long eyelashes, is slightly bowlegged_about which he is really embarrassed_and sleeps on a silk comforter.
Is it any wonder this black-and-white toy Maltese_the runt of the litter_doesn't know he's a dog?
"He's like a baby who you can talk to and he understands. He's pretty clever," said owner Patricia Ostrander of Seattle, who raves about her dog the way most people talk about angelic children. "I don't think he knows how to be a dog."
