PRESENTED in a one-night stand by the Canadian Embassy (Ambassade du Canada), and the Manila Chamber Orchestra Foundation, in cooperation with the Equitable PCI Bank, Canadian mezzo-soprano received all of three (3) standing ovations, in a recital featuring French, Philippine and Broadway songs in English.
Have you noticed that you relish/enjoy a song more when the tune is a familiar one, and second when sung in a language you understand?
In any event, Grace Chan (said originally to have been a native of the Philippines) started her recital with "Villanelle" by Hector Berlioz.
