Apr. 11--LONDON -- The Concorde, sleek supersonic airliner that whisked the rich and famous across the ocean in time for a second breakfast, is headed for retirement.
British Airways and Air France announced yesterday the luxury service inaugurated in 1976 would be grounded, a victim of the disastrous downturn for the airline industry since Sept. 11.
