Introduction
In the past 20 years, an explosion in the use and advertising of herbal supplements for medicinal purposes has occurred. Since this trend is likely to continue at least for the foreseeable future, it is a matter of concern for many health care providers. (1) This concern has perpetuated, not only because of the increased use of these products, but also because of frequent reporting of adverse reactions resulting from their consumption.
