Fairfax County is one of the most dynamic counties in the country, with Fortune 500 firms, a nationally ranked public library system, technology companies, the only national park for the performing arts, the 12th-largest public school system in the country, 30,000 acres of parkland and an increasingly diverse population.
The county encompasses about 400 square miles and is home to a well-educated, well-heeled population with a median family income in 2001 of $99,085.
