The Twins' brain trust believed the 2003 Twins would be a better team than the 2002 version that went to the American League Championship Series.
The reasons:
- The Twins' rotation was bound to be healthier than in 2002, when the top three starters spent months on the disabled list.
- The key figures in the bullpen would be accustomed to their roles.
- The lineup would be more experienced, healthier and more balanced.
Many key Twins had poor years at the plate in 2002, and the addition of righthanded hitters Michael Cuddyer and Matthew LeCroy would make the Twins more potent, and ...
