Augusta, GA (Sports Network) - In the sixth sudden-death playoff at Augusta, and 11th extra session overall, Mike Weir bogeyed the 10th to oust Len Mattiace and win his first major championship.

Weir, who had been near the top of the leaderboard all week, hit his third shot to three feet at the 15th and drained the putt to tie Mattiace in the lead at seven-under.

Mattiace drew the first card before the start of the extra session and played first. Weir followed and secured the title on his approach. While Mattiace missed the putting surface, Weir knocked his on the green.
