Interlochen Center for the Arts is conducting an international search to replace President Edward J. Downing, who has announced his retirement.
The Interlochen Board of Trustees has issued a request to Interlochen's 83,000 alumni around the world to submit names of candidates for consideration.
Downing, 67, has been president since 1998 and is in his twenty-fifth year at Interlochen. His previous positions include vice president for education and director of Interlochen Arts Camp. He is only the sixth president in Interlochen's seventy-five-year history.
