The Republican Party is one of the two major parties in American politics and government. Like the Democratic Party, the Republican Party s organization reflects federalism and the separation of powers. Each state has a Republican state committee and most American cities, towns, and counties also have Republican committees. Usually, Republican voters choose members, officers, and chairs of these state and local committees.
