EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY COMMISSION
(EEOC) is an independent federal regulatory agency created under Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act with the mission of eliminating illegal workplace discrimination. Its main function is to administer Title VII, which prohibits employment discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, and religion.
The EEOC is composed of five commissioners

not more than three of whom may be from the same political party
