A new 2-by-3-foot painting now hangs proudly in an honored spot in the Will County Board's meeting room.
That spot on the wall there has been empty since Nov. 30.
On that date, I told the story behind the painting that was hanging there then.
The old painting of the county's courthouse had been on the board room wall for almost 30 years.
But no one on the present county board knew the story behind that painting. The artist was a killer.
A brutal wife killer who was high on drugs.
He had butchered his victim in their bathtub in 1965.
Sentenced to serve 100 years in prison, he later received a shorter sentence in a new court proceeding in 1971. While sitting in a jail cell in the ...
