Article: NEED A PROM DRESS? | MINOOKA STUDENTS DECIDE TO MAKE THEIR OWN

MINOOKA -- Prom season is here, and dress shopping is a high priority. One common worry: how to make sure you're the only one wearing that special dress to your prom.

Sophomore Nicole Stefanski and senior Jesse Colansanti from Minooka High School are absolutely sure they're wearing designer originals.

That's because they made their own.

They made the dresses in Clothing 2, a family and consumer science class. Teacher Linda Hicks says this is the first time since she started teaching the class 10 years ago that any student has tackled making a prom dress. She started teaching at Minooka two years ago.

It's a big task, but one that Hicks says these two girls are well prepared to complete.
