Lake Michigan water should be available in Homer Township and Bolingbrook in early 2001, the company building the pipelines announced. About 18 months ago, the Illinois Commerce Commission approved Addison-based Citizens Lake Water Co.'s plan to sell lake water to Homer Township and Bolingbrook.

Both communities are currently receiving well water from Citizens.

When they receive lake water, residents will pay significantly more than they are now.

In Homer, for example, residents currently pay $2.34 per 1,000 gallons of water, but they'll pay $5.18 per 1,000 gallons for lake water.
