JOLIET -- Two Will County attorneys, Pamela Davis Gorcowski and Richard Kavanagh, were recently sworn into the United States Supreme Court.
Both work for Rooks, Pitts & Poust in Joliet.
Although it was not their original intention to become sworn into the Supreme Court, Gorcowski felt that it would be beneficial.
Gorcowski and Kavanagh were defending someone in a Civil Rights case when the plaintiff filed a petition of certiorari... in short, requesting that the case be heard before the United States Supreme Court.
"We filed a response arguing that it wasn't necessary for this case to go before the Supreme Court," said Gorcowski.
