LOCKPORT -- The late Ed Matesevac would have been proud.
Matesevac, the long-time bowling coach at Lockport High School, passed away last spring after a courageous bout with cancer.
He guided the Porters to two state championships.
Although Lockport finished second in the 16-team field, the Porters did well in the third annual Dane Walker Invitational at Strike 'N Spare II. Matesevac would have had a smile on his face.
"We were leading after the morning session," Lockport assistant coach Andy McCormick said.
"We started with a 1,078 and that was the top score of the day."
The Porters finished second behind Prospect (5,610) with a 5,526. Conant was third with a 5,508, Morris fourth ...
