Spice World is a movie wannabe. The Spice Girls, a prefabricated pop singing group of five British girls who run around screaming "Girl power!" while racking up a few top albums and singles, have touted their big screen debut as a kind of Hard Day's Night.

Well, girls, while The Beatles started a revolution, you may be starting a revolt against your own image.

But it may not necessarily be their fault, because the script for Spice World is a mess.

It wants to convey a carefree feeling but comes across as an unstructured jumble.

If these women have personalities, this film doesn't allow them to come through; instead, they have the collective appeal of salt.
