Editor's note: An essay contest for eighth grade students was held in conjunction with Memorial Day in Crest Hill. Contest chairman was Alderman Raymond Soliman.
Judges were Joette Ariagno, Jeanne Juricic and Vicky Soliman.
Honorable mention winners were Amber Goetz at Chaney-Monge and David Paul at Richland.
Soliman thanked Supt. Gus Tomac and teacher Wendy Mammosser at Chaney-Monge and Supt. Mike Conver and teacher Janet Frederickson at Richland.
