Michael Gross (Family Ties) stars as the proud owner of a giant, all-white painting in the Tony-winning comedy Art at the Royal George Theatre.
But real life fails to imitate you-know-what.
When it comes to modern art, "I don't understand this stuff at all," admits Gross, 51.
"My wife and I have some very close friends in Santa Fe who are major collectors of minimalist art and this is the stuff they have on their walls.
I just walk around their house and I look at it, and I don't exactly get it.
I make these nice clucking noises and approving sounds.
Then I walk out and say to my wife, `I don't get it!' "
