Article: NEW LENOX PASTOR TO BE ROCKFORD DISTRICT'S SUPERINTENDENT

NEW LENOX -- The keeper of the keys for New Lenox's best known historic site and the minister for one of its largest churches is leaving to take on an even bigger job. The Rev. J. Peter Lovell, senior pastor for the United Methodist Church of New Lenox, will become superintendent Jan. 1 of the Rockford District of the Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church.

The district includes the six northwest counties of Illinois and has 73 churches.

The Rev. Phyllis White, associate pastor for the New Lenox church, also will move.

She is leaving for the Mayfair Church in Chicago.
