On the day after Christmas, Kristen Jaworski was not sleeping in, listening to her new CDs, or talking to her friends on the telephone. She was sitting on an airplane on her way to San Antonio, Texas.

Jaworski, a communications public relations major at Purdue University and a varsity cheerleader, joined the rest of her squad in cheering on the football team from Purdue as they played against Kansas State in the Alamo Bowl on Dec. 29.

However, this was not Jaworski's first experience with a bowl game.
