The old high school photo of a cute girl with long blond hair lay on the table between our coffee cups. And Emilie Dinger talked about her daughter.

Amanda Corsini was just 16 then.

Even though she was smiling in the old photo, there was a sadness in her eyes.

Dinger said that photo was taken the year after her daughter had been gang raped by four men.

"My daughter is no angel," said Dinger, who is now 60.

"She's a mess.

She's a crack cocaine addict.

But there's a good side to her.
