Article: NEW LENOX SIGNS LAKE WATER PACT 40-PAGE AGREEMENT: MOKENA STILL MUST APPROVE ITS PORTION

NEW LENOX -- New Lenox residents may have another reason to be thankful on Thanksgiving 2000 -- Lake Michigan water. A potential joint agreement between New Lenox, Mokena, and Tinley Park, approved by the New Lenox board this week, anticipates lake water can be delivered to New Lenox by Nov. 1, 2000, as long as there are no delays.

The more than 40-page water agreement sets the stage for Tinley Park to supply the lake water to New Lenox once the water lines and equipment is in place.

The joint agreement also includes provisions for Mokena to connect to the water lines.
