Voter registration cards are getting a new look in Will County. When they arrive in the mail in the next few days, they'll look like over-sized postcards rather than the usual letter in an envelope, said Will County Clerk Jan Gould.

Gould said she's a little concerned that some people may think the cards are junk mail and toss them into the garbage.

But by switching to postcards rather than letters, the county saves about $14,000 in postage on more than 260,000 voter registration cards.

The old cards cost 29.5 cents to mail but the new postcards are only 24.3 cents a piece and some cost even less, Gould said.
