Article: GROUND BREAKING FRIDAY FOR MORNINGSTAR BUILDING | NEW BUILDING: TO HOUSE DINING, WORSHIP FACILITIES

JOLIET -- MorningStar Mission directors will break ground Friday on a new building that will feature a combination dining room/worship center and a new kitchen. The 4,650-square-foot building, which will be built on mission property at 350 E. Washington St., is designed to seat up to 130 people while giving mission cooks additional space to store food and prepare meals.

Marilyn Farmer, MorningStar's executive director, said the new facility will resolve a serious space crunch in the existing 2,000-square-foot building.

That cramped and run-down structure is in need of costly repairs, including a new roof and siding plus a heating and cooling system.
