There's no questioning the popularity of largemouth bass fishing across the country.
Our neighbors to the south swear it's the only gamefish that exists.
Other gamefish compete for angling attention here in the Midwest. Largemouth bass anglers share area lakes and rivers with those who fish for northern pike, walleye and musky.
Lake Michigan is seeing resurgence in salmon fishing, and on the big pond there's a new player in town.
Anglers are starting to recognize that a burgeoning population of smallmouth bass exists along Chicago's lakefront.
