FESTIVALS ADD TO FUN OF SUNDAY'S MID-AMERICA CANOE RACE

As canoeists plunge into the Fox River for the grueling Mid-American Canoe Race Sunday, bystanders will be partying on the riverbank. North Aurora will conduct its annual Arts and Crafts Show along the Fox River from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Island Park. The show will feature more than 100 artisans and numerous food vendors.

In Batavia, a good spot to watch the canoe race is Clark Island Park, where the 15th annual Heritage Arts Festival will be celebrated from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival features such entertainment as the Flippers Gymnastics Team and the blues-with-a-twist band of Howard and the White Boys.
