Article: ATTORNEY: AURORA TEEN ACTED IN SELF- DEFENSE

ST. CHARLES -- An Aurora teen-ager acted in self-defense in 1995 when he returned to an Aurora bar with a gun after being involved in a barroom brawl, the defense told jurors in opening arguments Wednesday. Gerardo Quintanilla, 21, is on trial in Kane County Circuit Court on charges of murdering a 39-year-old Boulder Hill woman.

And while both the prosecution and defense agree Quintanilla held the gun that killed Vicki Ososky, they have decidedly different views of what led to Ososky being shot in the chest at a bar on the East Side.

Auroran David Lomas also was struck by a bullet, according to police.

Attorney D.J. Tegeler said Lomas had been at Steven's Cafe and Bar for about 12 hours ...
