Article: RAMSEY NOMINATES UNCLE TO MERIT COMMISSION

GENEVA -- Kane County Sheriff Ken Ramsey has nominated a 26-year veteran of the Aurora Police Department to serve on the Sheriff's Merit Commission, which conducts testing for new law enforcement officers. Elmer Weber was nominated to serve the remaining portion of the term of James Johnson, who died last month.

His appointment is expected to be approved by the Kane County Board next week.

According to Jim Klinkhamer, the chairman of the merit commission, Ramsey cites Weber as one of his inspirations to get into law enforcement.

Weber is Ramsey's uncle.
