Article: PERFECT ATTENDANCE MEANS BREAKFAST AND ... MISSING SCHOOL!

AURORA -- Stacie Rapp was in an unusual place Wednesday morning -- out of school. Rapp, 16, was among 123 students being honored with a breakfast and activity event for perfect attendance and never being late during the first semester at West Aurora High School.

And in a bit of irony, Stacie admitted the best thing about the perfect attendance event was being out of school.

"I'm kind of lazy," she said, "so I don't wanna kinda come back to school and make up the work."

This is the fifth year for the event, created to impress upon students that perfect attendance is quite an accomplishment.

Of the 2,500 students at West High, less than 5 percent were invited guests.
