Life is getting complicated.
I've fished in Door County twice in the last three weeks.
The first trip lasted nine days.
The second trip was a shade under two days.
That's 11 days of fishing the same area.
You'd think I'd had enough.
Yet as I write this article, I'm planning a return trip to Door County.
The appeal is too strong and I must go back.
Why.
Smallmouth bass ... lots of them.
During the first trip, Libertyville angler Bob Uliks and I caught and released over 400 smallies.
Most ranged 17 to 18 inches in size.
We caught a handful over four pounds each.
One day we came upon a U-shaped pier in Egg Harbor, one several bays along the west side of Door County.
