Article: BOREALIS' `ABELARD AND HELOISE' IS A HIT, NOT A HOMER

The Borealis Theatre Company has this in common with the New York Yankees: When they are playing up to speed, they are almost unbeatable. And when they are having an off day, they are still better than most of their competition.

At their best, the Borealis has been responsible for some of the finest theater I have ever seen -- Dancing at Lughnasa, Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet), to mention only a few.

You would have to travel a long distance (perhaps as far as New York or London) to see something better.

And when they are not quite up to snuff -- as is the case with their current production of Abelard and Heloise -- they still manage to give the audience their money's worth.
