After its first taste of success last week, tough times continued for the Woodstock High School baseball team this season.
After an 0-3 start, the Blue Streaks came back to win their Fox Valley Conference opener in a big way April 10, defeating Crystal Lake Central 16-1 in six innings on the Tigers' turf.
Chad Duhai was the winning pitcher, allowing six hits and one earned run while striking out seven batters and walking one.
Duhai also helped his own cause by going 3-for-4 at the plate, including a home run and five RBIs. Jim Smith was 3-for-4 and scored three runs in the rout.
