Article: STATE RELEASES REPORT ON HEART-HOSPITAL PLAN

With days remaining before Edward Hospital again presents its proposal for a heart hospital to state regulators, health officials still have reservations about the facility. In a written staff report released Wednesday, the Illinois Department of Public Health found that Edward's scaled-down plan for a heart hospital still raises questions.

The report had concerns with 19 of the 22 criteria that Edward had to address.

One of those reservations included whether Edward followed protocol in its application.

Instead of asking to establish a new hospital, Edward sought to transfer the existing license from Linden Oaks Hospital, a psychiatric facility owned by Edward Health Services.
