Just in case Naperville School District 203 board members need help in updating the district's anti-discrimination policies, recent graduate Bea Menendez is ready to provide precedent from other districts.
In response to a request by board member Tim Costello, Menendez contacted districts and provided sample policies to the District 203 Board of Education this week.
Although the district has nondiscrimination policies, these don't mention sexual orientation, Menendez notes.
Menendez wants a policy that would identify categories of people that shouldn't be discriminated against, and she wants sexual orientation to be identified.
