It's taken three long years, but the city of St. Charles can finally welcome Von Maur into its family of businesses.
Von Maur, a family-owned department store on the same scale as Marshall Field's, recently announced it will move into the Charlestowne Mall. The store will take over the 102,000 square feet currently occupied by J.C. Penney, which plans to move out in January.
Von Maur also will take up an additional 30,000 square feet of general mall space, some presently occupied by other mall merchants.
"It's very good news for the mall," said John Anderson, president of Wilmorite Property Management LLP, which manages the Charlestowne Mall.
